Urgent action for the Greater Glider

GECO along with our friends at Wildlife of the Central Highlands (WOTCH) have put together an email action for the the threatened Greater Glider. According to a leaked government report 25% of the remaining population of Greater Gliders is estimated to have perished in the terrible bushfires in East Gippsland, and that figure could grow. Meanwhile key Greater Glider habitat is being logged in the Central Highlands Victoria right now, with many more areas planned to be logged in the coming months.

Send an email below to Ministers D’Ambrosio and Symes calling for immediate protection of the Greater Glider

Australia has the dubious honour of having lost and still losing the highest number of species to extinction, species that sre unique to Australia. Chipping away at the remains of our forests for pulp, which is turned into land fill within
six months is no longer an option. It is environmental vandalism during a time when we should be protecting and guarding the environment as a whole, and every single tree in particular. The trees are the lungs of the world and three quarters of the world’s forests have already disappeared, thereby robbing us of the primary rain producers, the habitat for wildlife, the storage of carbon, the major guards against erosion, -
the main ingredient that makes our world liveable.

How liveable is the Sahara desert?

Please protect the Greater Gliders from logging. They suffered enough in the bush fires.
