NEW DATE - SUNDAY MARCH 20TH, 2022, 12:30PM
Join us for an afternoon celebrating our precious wildlife with fellow East-Gippslanders!
The screening of the film will be preceded by the short film 'Defend Errrinundra' produced by GECO, about the efforts and the need to protect the Errinundra Plateau from logging. There will be also a Q&A with GECO campaigners after the main screening hosted at Iceworks @ 5 Carpenter St Lakes Entrance.
About the film 'The Message of the Lyrebird':
Do lyrebirds imitate sounds of human origin in the wild? This question begins a journey deep into the forests of Australia, where a lyrebird keeper, a scientist, a sound recordist, a study group, an activist and a Knowledge-Holder help us understand not only the lyrebird’s sophisticated artwork, but what its message may be for humanity.
This film is about the relationship between people and birds and an exquisite forest faery who has been performing song and dance routines for millions of years. A timeless odyssey of self-reflection and a call to remember to live without destroying the things we love.
